ABOUT
Born and raised in Seattle, WA, and currently based in New York City, Carlin Lee continues to establish himself as an innovative pianist, composer, and educator.
His most recent work Our Heart was commissioned by the Eastern Wind Symphony and was premiered at Princeton University's Richardson Auditorium alongside several other arrangements written by Carlin.

As a bandleader, Carlin leads and co-leads several groups from straight ahead jazz to contemporary classical chamber music. His groups have performed on television, radio, for live audiences, and have recorded several albums. Alongside his own projects, Carlin works extensively with other creatives, appearing as a sideman regularly throughout NYC. Notable venues he has performed at include Carnegie Hall, The Detroit Jazz Festival, The New York Times Headquarters in Manhattan, and the Soapbox Gallery.
Carlin holds a master's degree in Music Education from New York University, having worked with acclaimed researchers on various topics in the field of teaching music. His current teaching endeavors include band directing at The Trevor Day School and conducting a private lesson studio, with several of his students continuing to pursue music at the collegiate level. Previously, he served as an ensemble coach for the Townsend Harris High School’s Chamber Music Project, which now is run entirely by student leadership.
